"Software & Tools" tab on each "MPU & MCU" product page (see example) provides lists of development environment products for your target Renesas' MPU/MCU
Switching display mode
The Software and Tools tab has two display modes: Promote Products Only (the default view), ALL Products. You can switch to the mode that works best for the content you are viewing.
- "Show All Products(Include Discontinued products)" (See below A.)
- A full list including discontinued products will be shown. This link will appear only by the presence of discontinued products.
- "Show Promote Products Only"
- Clicking here takes you back to the default view which shows software and tools recommended for new designs.
Types of product lists
- Entry Tools
- The most basic development environment products. For example, a Renesas Starter Kit including a CPU board allows you to start the development right away.
- Standard Tool Chain
- A suite of tools used to design, debug and program embedded applications.
For debugging, you can choose the most suitable tools for your working environment -- simulator, OCD emulator, full-spec emulator and others. - Embedded Software
- Embedded operating systems, middleware, sample code, device drivers.
- Evaluation Boards
- Board products which are helpful in the evaluation of Renesas' devices and prototype development.

Finding tools without specifying the device group
- "Please use this pull down if you want to search for tools via tool categories and not through specific microcontrollers." (See below B.)
- Select the category from the pull down list and click the "Go" button, you will go to the Software and Tools website to see the whole product line without specifying the target device group.
