MATLAB is a technical computing software application developed by The MathWorks Inc. It can be used in engineering and many other fields.
- Interaction with RTW-EC
Modeling by MATLAB, and code generated by Real Time Workshop-Embedded Coder (RTW-EC), are automatically exported to High-performance Embedded Workshop (HEW). - Co-simulation is supported between MATLAB/Simulink and HEW.

Collaboration with Cantata++
Cantata++ is a unit/integration test support tool that makes unit tests more efficient and reduces the number of man hours for testing software.
- A Cantata++ wizard (TestDriver) can be started and programs tested directly from Renesas' High-performance Embedded Workshop (HEW) integrated development environment.
- A high-precision test can be performed using the same CPU instruction set as the system.
- This tool can be customized for application to various CPUs or compiler versions.
