Secure Key Provisioning/Programming Sevices

Renesas believes that the Board ID technology will be of interest to many small and medium-size companies, as well as large OEMs. To best serve the mid-size companies, Renesas is partnering with a large, well-established electronics distribution company, Avnet, to provide cost-effective logistical and value-added programming services for this product.

Serving the electronics industry for more than three decades, Avnet Logistics has established itself as the leader in IC programming for security devices.


Avnet: World’s largest value-added service provider for semiconductors		 Avnet Logistics provides a full range of serialization and security service offerings requiring high levels of security protocols to assure customer information is not compromised. These include MAC addresses, RFID tags, HDCP keys and license keys.

In addition, Avnet assures no duplication of data, full traceability, secured storage of data, and full reporting to the customer.

Avnet can also support the generation of keys if required by the customer.

Renesas and Avnet Logistics have worked closely together to offer and support Board ID in North America with high-quality service meeting security and safe storage specifically defined for this Security IC product.

Note: The Board ID solution with the generic security application is designed to meet the Export Control rules and regulations when the product is delivered via this distribution channel. For Export Control reasons, the ‘generic’ version of the Board ID solution cannot be modified by the end customer.
