Product Overview:
M66596 and R8A66597 are USB controllers with built-in Renesas original USBhost and USB peripheral conforming to USB2.0 specifications that are suitablefor embedding applications.
The M66596 supports Hi-Speed transfer and Full-Speed transfer, andone-to-one high-speed transfer with USB peripheral when USB host function isselected.
A small package and low power consumption have been addressed to make itsuitable for applications in mobile devices.
The R8A66597, a high-order product in comparison with the M66596, is a USBcontroller embedded with 2 USB ports.
The R8A66597 supports all USB transfer speeds and can connect up to 1 tier ofexternal HUB, and consequently, it can flexibly support connection for avariety of different USB peripheral functions.
Also, R8A66597 can be operated in 3.3V single power supply, it is possible toaddress a wide range of embedded device products with wide-temperature optionalproducts.
