| |
 |
The SuperH family incorporates power management
system controlled by software.
The software realizes the following settings.
- Sleep mode:
The CPU halts, while the on-chip peripheral modules continue to run.
- Standby mode:
the contents of the CPU and cache registers remain unchanged. Only
RTC operates.
- Module standby mode:
On/Off control of each module is possible.
|
|
|
|
| |
|
Module standby mode allows stop of clock
supply by modules.
Use of module standby mode enables detailed power management.
Power consumption decreases to about 1/3 of the normal mode at a maximum
by turning off unused modules. It is more effective than setting the
CPU at sleep mode.

|
| Power source isolation of the internal circuit minimizes power consumption
at standby mode. |

| SH-Mobile controls LCD display. |
|
Baseband LSI controls LCD display directly.
Ultra-low power consumption is realized by supplying power only to
LCD-through section. |

Recently, request for reducing noise in various systems is increasing
in the market while frequency of microcomputers which control system becomes
higher, and increases EMI noise.
SuperH microcomputers have been designed for reduction of switch noise by
optimization of transistor size and other means.
To prevent malfunction of microcomputers, high tolerance against external
noise is needed. |
